Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) employees have staged a protest at the bank’s head office, pressing four demands, including fresh recruitment, a revised organisational structure, changes to outsourcing arrangements and the removal of senior officials.

The demonstration was organised by the Bangladesh Krishi Bank Employees’ Union B-985 (CBA), affiliated with the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal, to press the bank authorities to address the demands of officers and employees, the union said in a press release.

It also called for outsourced workers to be brought directly under the bank’s management, removing them from the control of contractors it described as “Awami contractors”.

The protesters further demanded the immediate removal and compulsory retirement of executives and senior officials whom the union labelled “Awami fascists”.

The union submitted its four-point demands to the chairman and managing director of Bangladesh Krishi Bank.
