Nagad will sponsor Dhaka Reporters Unity’s Best Reporting Award 2026, which will be titled “Nagad-DRU Best Reporting Award 2026”.
The two organisations jointly announced the partnership at a press conference at the Shafiqul Kabir Auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity on Tuesday.
Awards will be presented across 26 subject-specific categories, divided into print-online and television-radio segments. Two categories will be open to all media outlets, with awards presented on behalf of the President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
A panel of 10 senior journalists will select the winning reports after reviewing submissions.
DRU members can submit reports published or aired between 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026. The deadline for submissions is 14 October.
DRU President Abu Saleh Akon said recognising reporters for the best reports of the year is a positive initiative that contributes to the advancement of journalism in the country.
DRU General Secretary Mynul Hasan Sohel said Nagad, the postal department’s mobile financial service, is partnering with DRU for this year’s initiative. He said Nagad has partnered with DRU in three award programmes, including this year, said a press release on Wednesday.
