Mark Mortimer, who became familiar to soap opera audiences as Nick Hudson on ‘Another World’, has died at 59 after a two-year battle with cancer, writes The Hollywood Reporter.
Mortimer died on 23 September surrounded by his family, according to an obituary posted by Moss-Norris Funeral Home on behalf of his loved ones.
He joined NBC’s ‘Another World’ in 1996 as the third actor to play Nick Hudson and appeared in 81 episodes before the long-running soap ended in 1999. His other screen credits included a guest appearance on ‘Spin City’ and the 2005 film ‘Nowhere Man’.
Born in Yorkville, Illinois, in 1967, Mortimer also served in the US Army, worked as a model and co-owned IOC Construction.
After his cancer diagnosis in 2024, he and his wife Christie founded the Integrative Access Foundation to help patients access costly integrative therapies.
He is survived by his wife, daughter Hunter, parents and six siblings.
