While trying to flee along the left side of the highway, the truck struck Alamgir, who was standing on the roadside. The truck then plunged into a ditch, critically injuring its driver, Md Sojib.

On-duty SRB members rescued both and took them to Feni Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared Alamgir dead. Sojib is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police from Mahipal Highway Police Station recovered both vehicles and took them into custody. Traffic movement was later restored.
