At 22, Slovak singer Adéla is quickly emerging as a new name in pop music. Just months ago, she was known mainly as a contestant on ‘The Debut: Dream Academy’, the YouTube competition that led to the formation of girl group Katseye.
Adéla was eliminated in the first round after viewers saw her as overly demanding and ambitious, turning her into one of the show’s most polarising contestants.
She has since built momentum as a solo artist. This year, she made her Billboard Hot 100 debut with ‘Ain’t in LA’, a song inspired by her mother’s dream of moving to Los Angeles.
Another track, ‘Nicole Kidman’, also made headlines after briefly becoming the most-played song on Spotify in the United States. With her profile growing rapidly, the former ballerina is now beginning a new chapter in pop.
