A delegation from Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, including Li Shaofeng and Third Secretary Xia Daoxing, visited Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University (MBSTU) to explore joint initiatives in education, research, and institutional development.
Earlier at 9:30am, the Chinese representatives were received on campus with floral greetings by MBSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ABM Shahidul Islam.
Deans of various faculties, department chairmen, the registrar, the proctor, and other faculty members were present during the reception.
Expressing his pleasure on his maiden visit to the campus, Li Shaofeng said the long-standing friendship between the Chinese people and MBSTU remains an important part of bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China.
He added that he holds several ideas regarding joint initiatives to advance MBSTU’s development and further strengthen Bangladesh–China ties, which he intends to discuss with the Chinese ambassador.
Highlighting potential avenues of partnership, the vice-chancellor said both sides could collaborate on introducing a Chinese language course, fostering cooperation in education and research, and gaining international exposure for Mawlana Bhashani Research Centre.
During the visit, Li Shaofeng and Xia Daojing paid homage at the shrine (Mazar) of Mawlana Bhashani, and toured Mawlana Bhashani Research Centre as well as Bhashani Museum.
They also inspected the classrooms, laboratories, seminar library, gallery room, and guest dormitory of the Department of Food Technology and Nutritional Science and Department of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering.
