Two more people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours, while 1,056 patients were hospitalised with the viral disease across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest deaths and hospitalisations were recorded between 8am on Friday and 8am on Saturday, the DGHS Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room said in a press release on Saturday.
Among the newly hospitalised patients, 144 were in Barishal Division, 103 in Chattogram, 251 in areas of Dhaka Division outside the city corporations, 108 in Dhaka North City Corporation and 76 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
Khulna reported 199 new hospitalisations, followed by 73 in Rajshahi, 48 in Mymensingh, 47 in Rangpur and seven in Sylhet.
With the latest figures, the number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals across the country this year has reached 50,276.
The death toll has climbed to 143.
Meanwhile, 46,699 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far this year.
Currently, 1,054 dengue patients are receiving treatment at hospitals nationwide.
The situation remains significantly serious compared with last year.
In 2025, a total of 102,861 people were hospitalised with dengue, while 413 died from the disease.
