Popular Dhallywood actor and filmmaker Rubel is set to return to directing after nearly 18 years with Chhaya: The Shadow.
Rubel has directed 16 films, including Mayer Jonno Juddho, Bichchhu Bahini, Probesher Nishedh, Baghe Baghe Lorai and Tornado Kamal.
His last directorial venture was Rokto Pipasha, released in 2008. He later stepped away from both filmmaking and acting.
Jai Chowdhury will play the central character in Chhaya: The Shadow. He will appear as a “superhuman” and will be paired with two actresses, one from Bangladesh and another from Kolkata. Their casting has not yet been finalised.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in the third week of October.
Rubel has not officially announced the project yet. Jai confirmed that the story and planning are complete and said preparations are underway. The film will be announced after everything is finalised.
