Commercial Bank of Ceylon (CBC) has partnered with Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust (BANCAT) under its healthcare corporate social responsibility programme to support underprivileged cancer patients and their families with medical treatment, nutrition, accommodation and counselling services.
CBC formally handed over its CSR contribution to BANCAT at a programme held at the bank’s Head Office, attended by senior representatives from both organisations, as part of an initiative aimed at helping patients manage their treatment journey with greater dignity and support.
Through the partnership, CBC will provide assistance for essential healthcare needs of cancer patients, including support for medical treatment, nutrition, accommodation and counselling, the bank said in a press release.
The initiative reflects CBC’s commitment to community wellbeing, healthcare support and creating a positive social impact in society, the bank said.
The event was attended by BANCAT Founder and Executive Director Najmus Ahmed Albab and Head of Partnership and Sustainability Musad Al Shehab. CBC was represented by DCEO and Chief Operating Officer Haily Algewatte, AGM Dewan Minhaz Rahman and Senior Manager Urmi I Khan.
