A woman was killed in a road accident on Hanif Flyover in the capital’s Jatrabari area early Wednesday.
The identity of the woman, who was around 40, could not be known immediately.
The incident took place in front of Dholaipar Tony Tower on the flyover, where an unidentified vehicle struck the woman, leaving her dead on the spot.
Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Saiduzzaman, after visiting the spot, said the woman was killed by the impact of the collision.
The body has been recovered and sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy. Efforts to identify the deceased are ongoing, as no one has yet been able to verify her identity.
