Police on Saturday recovered hanging body of a young rickshaw puller from Namapara I-Siddle Project area in East Badda, Dhaka. The deceased was identified as Mustafizur Rahman Rasel, who was a rickshaw puller by profession.
According to Badda Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Hasanur Rahman, police recovered Mustafizur’s body hanging from an electric pillar with a rope near a bamboo bridge at around 10:30am after being informed of the matter.
Following the completion of necessary legal procedures, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.
Citing relatives of the deceased, the SI said Mustafizur had left his house at night following a family dispute, having been upset with his wife.
It is initially suspected that the incident occurred at some point between 5am and 6:30am. Badda Police Station officials said the exact cause of death will be confirmed once the post-mortem report is received.
Mustafizur hailed from Latabaria village under Keorabunia Police Station in Barguna district. He had been residing with his family in a rented house adjacent to Namapara I-Siddle Project area in North Badda.
