Prime Minister’s Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman has said the government will look into the citizenship status of State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir if clarification is sought.
He made the remarks at the regular weekly press briefing at the Secretariat on Tuesday, when asked about the state minister’s dual citizenship.
“Initially, I would say he (Humaiun Kobir) spoke informally, and the best option is to ask him directly,” the adviser said.
Zahed added, “Still, if you want clarification, we can look into it.”
Referring to Kobir as an important figure in government, the adviser said, “If you read and see, you will find he answered a bit casually. It should not be taken seriously.”
During the briefing, the adviser also spoke alongside newly appointed Information Minister Andaleeve Rahman Partha and State Minister for Information Yasser Khan Chowdhury.
