The US Embassy in Dhaka has warned that Bangladeshis arrested in connection with a case could face visa revocation, deportation from the United States and ineligibility for future US visas.
The warning was issued in a post on the embassy’s verified Facebook page on Saturday.
“If you are arrested, your US visa may be revoked. You may be removed from the United States and may be found ineligible for future US visas,” the embassy said.
The latest advisory follows an earlier warning issued this month, in which the embassy cautioned that involvement in theft could lead to visa cancellation and permanent ineligibility to enter the United States.
In a notice published on its official Facebook page on 10 October, the embassy said physical assault, theft, robbery and trespassing could result in visa revocation and permanent ineligibility for entry into the country.
The embassy also reiterated that the United States upholds the rule of law and expects all foreign tourists and visitors to comply with US laws while in the country.
