Asadur Rahman appointed DSE chief operating officer

Mohammad Asadur Rahman, FCS, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC, effective June 30, 2025.

Rahman, who joined DSE in April 2010 as an Assistant General Manager, brings over 15 years of experience across multiple departments of the country’s premier bourse.

He was promoted to Deputy General Manager in April 2013 and then to General Manager and Company Secretary in April 2017, a position he held until this week.

During his tenure, Rahman led several core departments, including Board and Corporate Affairs, TREC Affairs, Legal Affairs, Public Relations and Publications, and International Affairs.

He also briefly served as the Head of Market Development Division from June 2019 to January 2020, overseeing key segments such as SME and OTC, Research and Information, and Market Operations (MOPS).

Rahman played a pivotal role in major institutional transformations at DSE.

He served as the Member Secretary of the DSE Demutualisation Implementation Committee and was an active member of the core team responsible for deploying new trading systems from Nasdaq and FlexTrade.

He was also part of the strategic team that secured full membership of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and onboarded Shenzhen and Shanghai Stock Exchanges as DSE’s strategic investors.

Representing DSE internationally, Rahman has engaged with counterparts from the Philippines, Singapore, Shanghai, Mumbai, Maldives, Germany, and others.

He is also a member of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) alumni network.

Until a new Managing Director joins the bourse, Rahman will serve concurrently as Acting Managing Director in addition to his role as COO.
