Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 487 people and filed 36 cases during a 24‑hour operation in the capital.

The information was disclosed in a press release signed by Niaz Mehedi, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of the DMP Media and Public Relations Division, on Thursday.

Among the arrestees, 105 were arrested in Mirpur, 90 in Wari, 71 in Tejgaon, 67 in Motijheel, 41 in Uttara, 37 in Lalbagh, 35 in Ramna, and 24 in Gulshan.

During the operations, law enforcement seized 2,566 yaba tablets, 164kg of cannabis, 45 Tapentadol tablets, 84 mobile phones, two motorcycles, two SSD cards, and one fake National Identity (NID) card.

Additionally, Tk8.4 lakh in cash was recovered.
