The trailer of Mastul takes viewers aboard a fuel tanker floating on the river, gradually unfolding the life of the vessel’s cook, Mokbul. It offers a glimpse into his loneliness, daily routine, relationships and struggle for survival.
The trailer also introduces Noora, a street child from the port area, while capturing the everyday lives of people whose existence revolves around the river. Together, these elements hint at a deeply human, emotional and realistic story.
Real locations, natural dialogue and the rugged yet vibrant atmosphere of the river port dominate the trailer. Scenes featuring busy waterways, cargo vessels, fish markets and various aspects of port life add authenticity to the film’s setting.
The film’s promotional campaign began earlier with the release of its official poster. That was followed by the promotional song Amay Bhasailire, performed by Fazlur Rahman Babu, which received praise from audiences. The newly released trailer has now further heightened anticipation for the film.
Mastul has already attracted international recognition. It received the Special Mention award in the main competition section of the 47th Moscow International Film Festival.
The film also won the Best Artistic Contribution award at the 18th Cheboksary International Film Festival in Russia. In addition, it earned a nomination in the Best Humanitarian Film category at the 26th ImagineIndia International Film Festival in Spain.
