Dhaka Insurance Limited exceeded the regulatory ceiling for management expenses by Tk1 crore in 2025, according to the company’s audit report.
The auditor issued a qualified opinion and included an “Emphasis of Matter” paragraph in the audit report for the year ended 31 December 2025.
According to the audit findings, Dhaka Insurance incurred management expenses of Tk12.81 crore against the allowable limit of Tk11.81 crore under the Insurance Act, 2010 and related rules issued by the Financial Institutions Division of the finance ministry.
The excess management expenditure amounted to Tk1 crore, the auditor said.
The audit report also flagged the company’s gratuity fund provisioning practice.
According to the auditor, Dhaka Insurance made a lump-sum gratuity provision of Tk67 lakh up to the 2018 financial year but did not make any further adjustments or provisions afterwards.
The observation was disclosed in note 26 of the financial statements.
