Pathao Pay has joined the Bangla QR and NPSB interoperability network, enabling seamless cashless payments across Bangladesh, said a press release. The integration allows users to scan and pay via Pathao Pay at rides, deliveries, restaurants, and retail outlets, regardless of their preferred bank or payment platform.
The rollout already covers major brands and merchants, including Fair Electronics Ltd., Secret Recipe, Praava Health, Madchef, Cheez, Pagla Baburchi, and Lotto. The scan-and-pay option is also being integrated into Pathao’s rides ecosystem, encompassing bikes, cars, and CNG services nationwide.
Fahim Ahmed, CEO of Pathao, said, “Digital payments should feel effortless in everyday life. Through Bangla QR, we are making payments more seamless, interoperable, and accessible for millions of users and merchants across Bangladesh. This is another step toward building a smarter and more connected digital ecosystem for the country.”
Pathao Pay plans to expand Bangla QR payments across online checkouts and courier services in the near future, further integrating digital payments into everyday commerce.
Founded in 2015, Pathao is the largest digital services platform in Bangladesh, leading in ride-sharing, food delivery, and e-commerce logistics. The platform serves over 15 million users, 400,000 Pathao Hero and delivery agents, 200,000 merchants, and 15,000 restaurants, creating more than 600,000 job opportunities and contributing significantly to the country’s digital economy, said the press release.
