The National University (NU) has expelled 10 examinees following allegations of examination malpractice, as the institution moves to strengthen supervision and discipline across its affiliated centres.
Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah said the university would not tolerate irregularities in any form during examinations.
“If the examination system is not properly managed, it becomes unacceptable.
There is no alternative to strict enforcement in conducting exams,” he told reporters on Thursday.
He made the remarks after visiting several examination centres in Mymensingh, where he inspected the ongoing Honours 4th-year examinations and reviewed administrative measures.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor ordered action against 10 students from a centre for alleged misconduct during examinations.
NU VC Amanullah said the university is taking comprehensive steps to ensure transparency and accountability in exam management. He stressed that proper conduct depends on the active cooperation of teachers and officials involved in examination duties.
“Until teachers and officials engaged in exam administration are fully committed to ethical standards, there will be no opportunity to ensure proper conduct of examinations,” he said.
He added that the NU administration is working to strengthen monitoring and coordination across all centres to prevent future irregularities.
Earlier, he inaugurated the regional centre of the NU in Mymensingh.
