A man and his son were found dead at separate locations in Tongi, Gazipur, on Sunday. Both bodies bore injury marks.
The deceased were identified as Sohel Hossain and his younger son Sakibul Hasan Soyeb.
Police detained Sohel’s elder son, Sohan Hasan, for questioning over the incident. Police said Sohel had been living at his Bonamla residence with his two sons.
According to police and local sources, the body of Sakibul was found inside their house in the morning. Later, the body of his father was recovered near a rail line in the area.
Police recovered both bodies and sent them to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Officer-in-Charge of Tongi East Police Station Md Mehdi Hasan said the bodies were recovered based on information. He said both victims had injuries on their heads and other parts of the body.
He said the exact cause of death remains unknown. An investigation is underway. The elder son is being interrogated and legal procedures are in progress.
