Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC has opened a dedicated service booth at the Ashkona Hajj Camp in Dhaka to support pilgrims with banking services, essential information and travel-related items, the bank said.
The booth was inaugurated on April 16 by Managing Director Current Charge Md Altaf Hossain as chief guest, with Dhaka North Zone Head AKM Mahbub Morshed and Executive Vice President Md Moznuzzaman present alongside other senior officials.
The bank sets up the facility each year at the Ashkona camp as part of its seasonal Hajj support programme, offering financial services and logistical assistance to departing pilgrims.
Services include supplying foreign currency such as Saudi riyal and US dollar against Bangladeshi taka, issuing Hajj cards, endorsing debit and Khidmah credit cards, and providing ATM booth access.
Pilgrims can use the cards to withdraw riyals from any ATM in Saudi Arabia displaying the Visa logo, the bank said.
In addition to financial services, the bank distributes practical items including umbrellas, handbags, shoe bags and pouches for carrying stones used during the stoning ritual in Mina.
It also provides informational leaflets and Hajj guidelines to help pilgrims understand the procedures and requirements of performing the pilgrimage.
