Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will travel to Moscow on Sunday (22 June) for a scheduled meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin. Araghchi revealed this in an interview with Russian state media.
Speaking about the visit, Araghchi said, “We have a strategic partnership with Russia. Our positions are often discussed and coordinated with one another.”
Commenting on the recent US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, Araghchi condemned the move as a dangerous escalation. “There is no longer any red line that the United States has not crossed,” he said. “By attacking our nuclear sites, they have taken an extremely perilous step.”
Meanwhile, in response to a significant US-led attack on three of Iran’s primary nuclear installations, Iran launched approximately 20 ballistic missiles into Israel, striking targets across at least 10 areas including Tel Aviv and Haifa. According to Iranian sources, the strikes injured 86 people.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that around 20 missiles were detected targeting central and northern Israel early Sunday morning. Israeli media reported loud explosions across the country.
