Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed concern over ceasefire violations in the West Asia conflict zone, urging all parties to exercise restraint and respect the two-week truce brokered by Islamabad.
“Violations of the ceasefire have been reported at few places across the conflict zone which undermine the spirit of peace process,” Sharif wrote on X.
“I earnestly and sincerely urge all parties to exercise restraint and respect the ceasefire for two weeks, as agreed upon, so that diplomacy can take a lead role towards peaceful settlement of the conflict,” he added.

The appeal comes as Pakistan prepares to host direct talks between Iran and the United States in Islamabad this weekend. Vice President JD Vance will lead the US delegation, while Iran is expected to be represented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf.
The temporary regionwide ceasefire, announced on Tuesday following Pakistan’s mediation, was intended to halt the US-Israeli war against Iran. However, Israeli strikes have continued across Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, killing more than 250 people, according to reports.
Sharif has previously described the development as a major diplomatic success, crediting unprecedented coordination between Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership.
