Rishad Hossain had a day to forget as Rawalpindi suffered another defeat despite putting up a strong total, with Karachi Kings chasing down 198 with five wickets in hand and four balls remaining.
Having already lost their opening match after scoring 214, Rawalpindi once again failed to defend a near-200 total. Rishad, who conceded 35 runs in the previous game, went wicketless this time, leaking runs at over nine an over and also dropping a crucial catch.
At Gaddafi Stadium, Rawalpindi lost early wickets before Daryl Mitchell and Sam Billings rebuilt with a 120-run stand. Mitchell struck 65 off 41 balls, while Billings made 58 from 35. Late contributions from Mohammad Rizwan (21 off 13) and Abdullah Fazal (18 off 7) lifted them to 198. Hasan Ali claimed three wickets for Karachi.
In reply, Karachi started steadily before accelerating. Rishad began tidily but lost control in his later overs. David Warner scored 50 off 36 balls, while Azam Khan powered 74 off 34. A dropped catch off Azam proved costly as Karachi eased to victory.
