A Dhaka court on Monday imposed a travel ban on former law minister Anisul Huq, Kasba Upazila Chairman Md Rashedul Kawsar Bhuiyan Jibon, and lawyer Toufika Karim.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Sabbir Faiz issued the order after CID Inspector Md Ashraful Islam filed a petition seeking the restriction, court bench assistant Md Riaz Hossain confirmed.
According to the petition, the three accused amassed Tk24,53,69,021 through an organised extortion racket and laundered the money.
A case was registered at Bhatara Police Station under the Money Laundering Prevention Act on January 11.
