The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat has announced that Eid-ul-Fitr prayers will be held exclusively inside mosques across the country this year.

In a statement, the authority confirmed that the decision applies nationwide, and traditional open-air Eid prayer areas will not be used, reports Gulf News.

Officials stated that the measure is intended to maintain public safety and ensure the smooth organisation of prayers as worshippers gather at mosques across the emirates. The authority added that all mosques in the UAE have been prepared to accommodate worshippers for the prayers, which mark the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Members of the public have been urged to follow all official guidance and instructions issued by the relevant authorities. Traditionally, Eid-ul-Fitr prayers are held in large congregations, often in designated outdoor areas.
