Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast storms with speeds of up to 60 kilometres per hour (km/h), accompanied by rain and thunder showers, across three districts.
According to a notification signed by meteorologist Md Tariful Newaz Kabir, temporary gusty or squally winds from the west or north-west, at speeds of 45 to 60 km/h, may sweep over Chattogram, Mymensingh, and Sylhet. The warning, valid until 1pm on Monday, is specifically for inland river ports in these areas.
Consequently, river ports in these specific areas have been advised to hoist Cautionary Signal number 1.
Meanwhile, in a separate notification, the BMD said rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty winds may occur in one or two places across all divisions of the country until 6pm on Monday. This pattern of scattered showers is expected to persist for the next few days.
