Four senior officers holding the rank of deputy commissioner within the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have been assigned new roles in a routine administrative adjustment.
The transfer notifications were issued on Sunday, signed by acting commissioner Md Sarwar.
The orders, which are effective immediately in the public interest, will stay in place until further notice.
According to the new assignments, M Tanvir Ahmed, formerly the DC for Traffic in Ramna, will now lead the Gulshan Division. Taking over the Mirpur Division is Md Mostak Sarker, who previously headed the Detective Branch in Lalbagh.
Raunak Alam, who was the DC for Gulshan, has been moved to head the Detective Branch in Lalbagh. Replacing him in Mirpur is Md Moinul Haque, who was serving as the DC for the Ramna Traffic Division.
Sources within the DMP indicated that the reallocation of responsibilities is intended to improve operational effectiveness and address current administrative demands.
