Portfolios have been distributed among eight of the ten recently appointed advisers to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
According to a gazette notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Friday, responsibilities were assigned to advisers holding the status of minister and state minister.
Last Tuesday, the prime minister appointed ten individuals as advisers under executive powers. Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani signed the initial appointment notification, which was also confirmed via the verified Facebook page of the BNP Media Cell.
Among those with the rank of Minister, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam Khan, and Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed have been appointed as Political Advisers.
Additionally, Md Ismail Zabiullah has been assigned to the Ministry of Public Administration, while Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir has been given charge of the Ministry of Finance.
Regarding advisers with the status of state minister, Brigadier General (retd) Shamsul Islam has been tasked with the Ministry of Defence.
Mahdi Amin has been allocated a broad portfolio covering the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Rehan Asif Asad has been put in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The new distribution of responsibilities is expected to enhance the momentum of administrative and policy-making activities within the respective ministries.
