Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has stated that the police force has successfully delivered a fair and universally acceptable election through utmost sincerity and dedication.
He made these remarks while presiding over the monthly crime review meeting for January 2026, held at the Rajarbagh Bangladesh Police Auditorium on Wednesday.
DMP Deputy Police Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) Muhammad Talebur Rahman issued a press release in this regard.
Extending his gratitude to all members of the force, the DMP Commissioner noted that police personnel performed their duties with neutrality and professionalism during the election.
He further remarked that the police have successfully restored their “lost glory” and directed all members to work diligently to maintain this positive image in the coming days.
During the session, Additional Commissioner (Admin) Md Sarwar (Additional IG), addressed the upcoming month of Ramadan.
He mentioned that traffic pressure intensifies significantly before Iftar and directed all relevant personnel to perform their duties effectively to ensure that the public can return home for Iftar without hindrance. He also urged the general public to adhere strictly to traffic laws.

Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md Nazrul Islam highlighted that major events such as 21 February (Martyrs’ Day) and the Amar Ekushey Book Fair are approaching. He issued directives to remain vigilant against crimes such as theft and mugging during the holy month of Ramadan, specifically during the timings of Tarawih prayers.
As part of the proceedings, the DMP Commissioner presented awards to officers of various ranks in recognition of their excellence in maintaining law and order, crime control, and ensuring public safety during the month of January.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Additional Commissioner (Admin) Md Sarwar, (Additional IG); Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S N Md Nazrul Islam; Additional Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Md Masud Karim; Additional Commissioner (DB) Md Shofiqul Islam; Additional Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md Shawkat Ali; Additional Commissioner (Protection and Diplomatic Security) Sana Shaminur Rahman; and Additional Commissioner (Estate, Development and ICT) Mohammad Osman Gani.
Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, Additional Deputy Police Commissioners, Assistant Police Commissioners, and Officers-in-Charge of all DMP police stations were also present at the review.
