After a round of price cuts, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to raise gold prices again in the domestic market.
This time, the price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk2,216 per bhori, setting the new rate at Tk261,040 per bhori.
According to the new price declared around 9:30am, the price of the best quality 22-carat gold has been raised to Tk22,380 per gram.
Earlier, on Sunday morning, gold prices had been reduced by Tk3,266 per bhori, bringing the rate down to Tk258,824 per bhori. Within a day, the price has now been increased again by Tk2,214 per bhori.
In addition, the price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk249,143 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk213,568 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk174,785 per bhori.
BAJUS said the adjustment was necessary due to the rise in the price of pure gold in the local market.
