Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan said only defeated forces, fascist collaborators, and opponents of the Bangladeshi people would support ‘No’ in the upcoming referendum.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after paying floral tributes at the ‘36 July’ memorial in Rangpur city early on Friday.
Adilur Rahman added, “The government formed through the people’s uprising has taken initiatives to implement the July Charter. That is why it is crucial for ‘Yes’ to win in the referendum. The people of Bangladesh, the public’s caravans, and the tide of the nation will stand firmly in favour of the ‘Yes’ vote.”
Earlier, on Thursday night, Adilur Rahman arrived in Rangpur for a two-day visit.
During his stay, he will inspect local government facilities and meet officials of the district and divisional administration for discussions.
