Food delivery platform Foodpanda Bangladesh celebrated its rider community with the second edition of the Panda Rider Premier League (PRPL) 2025, a day-long cricket tournament promoting team spirit, sportsmanship, and rider engagement.
Held at CricBD Lakepori Cricket Arena in Purbachal, Gazipur, the event brought together rider teams from across Dhaka to compete in a series of matches. Eight teams – Gulshan Fighters, Uttara Super Giants, Mirpur Gladiators, Lalbagh Wari Kings, Basundhara Warriors, Baily Road Knight Riders, Narayanganj Bulls, and Dhanmondi Blasters – represented different zones of the capital.
Seven matches were played in total, including knockout rounds, two semi-finals, and a highly competitive final. Gulshan Fighters emerged victorious, defeating Mirpur Gladiators, who finished as runners-up. The champions were awarded Tk40,000, while the runner-up team received Tk25,000.
This marks the second edition of Foodpanda’s rider-only cricket league, building on the success of the inaugural tournament held in 2023. The initiative follows several other sports-related events organised by Foodpanda to support rider well-being, including football tournaments.
“Our goal is to recognise riders beyond their daily tasks,” said Mukitur Khan, head of logistics at Foodpanda Bangladesh. “Through initiatives like PRPL, we’re strengthening community ties and fostering healthy competition.”
