‘Infinity Run for the Earth 2025’, a sustainability-focused marathon organised by fitness and endurance sports platform The Athlete X, is set to take place at Hatirjheel in Dhaka on 19 December, aiming to promote environmental protection and healthier lifestyles.
The event is expected to attract more than 2,500 registered runners from across the country, alongside fitness communities, youth organisations, families, environmentally conscious citizens and representatives of various social initiatives, according to the organisers.
They said the initiative seeks to transform the run into a broader movement for sustainability by encouraging healthier living and environmental responsibility.
The Athlete X, which organises community-based running and fitness events with social and environmental objectives, said sustainability remains central to all its programmes.
To align with the global focus on sustainable development, a range of environment-friendly measures have been incorporated into the event, including recycled running jerseys, paper cups instead of plastic for hydration, digital boards replacing printed posters and decorations made from jute and cotton fabrics along the race track.
According to the organisers, every phase of the event has been carefully designed to minimise environmental impact and demonstrate how large public events can be organised responsibly.
They emphasised that ‘Infinity Run for the Earth 2025’ is not merely a race but a collective commitment to protecting the planet through action and awareness.
Infinity is supporting the event as the title sponsor, enabling environment-friendly branding and helping take the sustainability message to a wider audience, the organisers added.
