The PCB will process NOC applications for thr BPL and grant permission based on availability, while giving national duty first priority. Officials say they are reviewing each request and will approve NOCs for players who are free during the BPL window.
Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has featured Pakistani cricketers since the tournament began. Several franchises have already signed key Pakistani names for the upcoming season.
But doubts have risen about whether these players can stay for the full tournament. Cricbuzz has reported that Pakistan’s busy international schedule will prevent many from playing the entire BPL, forcing teams to look for backup options.
This season’s BPL will run from 26 December to 23 January. During this time, Pakistan will play two T20I series. One franchise official told Cricbuzz that players will have to leave early, as Pakistan travel to Sri Lanka in mid-January and then play Australia later in the month.
Pakistan’s first assignment is a three-match T20I series in Dambulla on 7, 9, and 11 January. They will also run a training camp there as part of their World Cup preparation. After the Sri Lanka tour, Australia will visit Pakistan for another three-match T20I series in the final week of January.
Once that concludes, Pakistan will head back to Sri Lanka for the T20 World Cup, which runs from 7 February to 8 March. The tournament will be co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India in a hybrid model.
Despite the tight schedule, many Pakistani stars have signed up for the BPL. Saim Ayub, Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Sahibzada Farhan, Usman Khan, Imad Wasim, and Khushdil Shah are among the headline names. Still, most are unlikely to complete the full season because of national duty.
Franchises believe a few players may still feature for short spells—either before the Sri Lanka series or during the gap between the Sri Lanka and Australia tours. Those not central to Pakistan’s World Cup plans could also play more BPL matches.
