BRAC Bank has introduced ‘PRANTIK’, a fully in-house–developed agent banking system that will enable faster, safer and wider banking services across rural Bangladesh.

The platform—designed, built and operated by the bank’s own Technology Division—was launched on 12 November at the bank’s head office, marking a significant step in strengthening technological self-reliance and expanding financial inclusion, according to a press statement.

The initiative answers a critical question for the sector: how can remote customers access secure banking without relying on third-party technology? BRAC Bank says PRANTIK is the solution.

The launch ceremony was inaugurated by BRAC Bank Managing Director and CEO Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, in the presence of senior officials including Additional Managing Director Syed Abdul Momen, Deputy Managing Directors Md Muniruzzaman Molla, Chowdhury Moinul Islam and Nazmur Rahim, and representatives from multiple divisions.

In his remarks, the managing director and CEO said, “PRANTIK is a proud milestone in our digital journey — a homegrown innovation that embodies BRAC Bank’s spirit of self-reliance and service excellence.
