Jahangirnagar University (JU) will begin its admission tests for first-year students of the 2025-26 academic session (55th batch) on 21 December.
Acting Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman confirmed the information.
According to Deputy Registrar Ali Reza, the specific dates for each faculty’s test are still being finalized. “We will fix the unit-wise test dates after assessing the total number of applicants and coordinating with the admission schedules of other universities,” he stated.
The admission tests will be held under six faculties (units) and one Institute of Business Administration (IBA) unit. A Unit: Physical Sciences, B Unit: Social Sciences C Unit: Arts and Humanities, C1 Unit: Fine Arts and Drama & Dramatics, D Unit: Biological Sciences, E Unit: Business Administration. The IBA will conduct its test separately.
The application fees have been fixed at Tk 800 for A, B, C, and D units; Tk600 for E unit; and Tk700 for both C1 and IBA units.
Due to the large number of applicants, the tests for each unit will be held in multiple shifts- morning and afternoon- similar to previous years.
University authorities clarified that holding all the tests on a single day is not feasible due to limited infrastructure and seat capacity. All examinations will be conducted on the JU campus and will not be held in any divisional cities.
