Bangladesh Under-19s kept their hopes of saving the five-match youth ODI series alive after bowling Afghanistan Under-19s out for 208 in the final match at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on Sunday.
Afghanistan, who lead the series 2-1, opted to bat first after winning the toss but struggled to build momentum despite a solid start from opener Usman Sadat, who made 68 from 106 balls. Captain Mahbub Khan contributed 40 from 59 deliveries, while Uzairullah Niazi added 32 from 68.
The visitors faltered towards the end of their innings, losing regular wickets as Bangladesh’s bowlers maintained control. Azizullah Miyakhil’s brisk 19 from 16 balls and Nazifullah Amiri’s 13 from 11 were the only notable lower-order contributions.
Despite the late collapse, Afghanistan managed to bat out their full 50 overs, finishing on 208 for eight. Samiun Basir Ratul was the pick of the Bangladesh attack with two wickets, while Shaharia-Al Amin, Saad Islam and Shahriar Ahmed claimed one apiece.
With Afghanistan holding a 2-1 advantage in the series, the young Tigers must win this match to avoid defeat in the five-game contest.
