A total of 76 officers of the Bangladesh Police who had been in the ranks of deputy inspector general (DIGs), additional DIG, and superintendent of police (SP) have had their Officer on Special Duty (OSD) status removed and provided postings across various ranges in the law enforcement agency.
The President ordered the postings on Wednesday.
Information regarding the change of status for the aforementioned officers was provided in a notification signed by Deputy Secretary of Police-1 Branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs Md Mahbubur Rahman.
Earlier, on February 25, a total of 82 senior police officers were made OSD in three separate notifications of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The list included one additional IGP, 13 DIGs, more than fifty additional DIGs and 15 police superintendent rank officers.
Ther new posting will see 76 officers attached to various ranges of DIG offices in the country, Police Training Centre (PTC), and Sardana in Rajshahi.
According to sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs, the posting process has been completed as part of a drive towards administrative transparency and structural reorganisation.
