Seventy students from two educational institutions, one from the capital and another from Shariatpur, observed the fourth working day of the national budget session on Wednesday.
The group arrived at the Parliament building at 1:45pm, where they toured the architectural site before having lunch at the parliament cafeteria. At 3pm, as the session commenced, they watched the day’s proceedings from the Birsreshtha Mohammad Ruhul Amin Gallery.
The visiting party included 30 students from the eleventh and twelfth grades of Habib Ullah Degree College, Bhedarganj, Shariatpur, accompanied by five teachers. They were joined by 40 students of various classes from Chetona Model Academy in Mirpur, Dhaka, along with three of their teachers.
This visit is part of an ongoing initiative by Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon to provide school, college, and university students with the opportunity to observe parliamentary proceedings. Consequently, students from various institutions are being given access to the gallery daily to witness the budget session.
The day’s agenda of the 13th National Parliament began with a question-and-answer session featuring Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The meeting was presided over by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad.
During the session, discussions were held on accepted notices regarding “Call to Attention on Matters of Urgent Public Importance (Rule-71)”. Furthermore, decisions were reached regarding the formation of parliamentary standing committees.
