Police arrested 56 people in a series of raids in crime-prone areas under the Tejgaon Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) for their alleged involvement in various criminal activities.
Police said the arrests were made on Friday during regular drives carried out in different crime-prone areas under the division.
Among those arrested, seven were detained by Tejgaon Police Station, two by Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, 24 by Mohammadpur Police Station, four by Adabar Police Station, nine by Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station and 10 by Hatirjheel Police Station.
The arrestees have been sent to court for taking further legal action, police sources said.
