Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu has been transferred from Rajshahi Medical College Hospital to PG Hospital (officially known as Bangladesh Medical University) in Dhaka for treatment.

He was flown to Dhaka from Shah Makhdum Airport in Rajshahi on a US-Bangla Airlines flight at 8:25am on Thursday.

Shafiqul Haque Milon, lawmaker from the Paba-Mohanpur constituency, accompanied the minister from the Rajshahi hospital to the airport around 7:30am. He briefed journalists on the minister’s health condition and treatment at the airport.

Milon said the land minister had recently travelled to Singapore for medical treatment. His blood haemoglobin level had apparently dropped due to a possible complication involving the medication prescribed to him there. He had required blood transfusions over the past several days.

Specialist doctors in Rajshahi had been treating the minister and regularly monitoring his physical condition. Following their advice, a decision was made to transfer him to Dhaka for advanced treatment, Milon said.
