Five students, including four males and one female, were expelled for adopting unfair means during the ongoing HSC examinations in Dewanganj, Jamalpur. The incident took place on Monday during English first paper examination at Dewanganj Government High School centre.

According to Upazila Secondary Education Office, the expulsion order was issued by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shah Johurul Hossain during a routine inspection of the examination centre.

During the visit, the UNO found cheat sheets in possession of several candidates, while one examinee was caught attempting to use an answer script that had been written outside the hall.

All five students were ordered to be expelled in accordance with examination regulations. The expelled candidates are all students of Govt Abdul Khalek Memorial College.

Confirming the matter, Dewanganj Upazila Academic Supervisor Sajal Kumar Bhadra said the action was taken following the UNO’s directives. The roll numbers of expelled examinees are 437832, 437864, 437927, 437839, and 214176.

UNO Shah Johurul Hossain emphasised that there is no scope for any form of cheating or irregularities at the examination centres. He added that various centres are being inspected daily to ensure a fair, transparent, and cheat-free environment, and this strict monitoring will continue.
