Five people were injured in a fire caused by a gas cylinder leak at a workshop in Gazipur’s Kaliakair on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred around 10:30pm at Motaleb Workshop in Rakhaliachala area.
Witnesses and police said the leaked gas spread to a nearby tea stall and ignited instantly.
Workshop owner Motaleb Hossain, tea seller Ali Hossain, and tea stall customers Safikul Islam, Shamim Ahmed, and Shahin suffered burns.
Locals rescued the victims and took them to a private hospital. Doctors later referred two of them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital due to their critical condition.
