The chaotic incidents were reported at 486 polling centres across the country by 2pm on Thursday during the ongoing 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum, the Home Ministry’s Emergency Coordination Cell said.

The cell also reported 59 cases of fake voting and three incidents of ballot box snatching.

According to the coordination cell, polling agents were expelled from polling stations at 14 locations, while clashes between supporters of different candidates occurred at 135 sites.

Voting was obstructed at 18 centres, and six candidates were reportedly assaulted.

Four cases of arson and 33 instances of alleged negligence by election officials were also recorded, the cell added.

The Home Ministry said data collection and verification from all polling centres are still ongoing.
