The results of the HSC and equivalent exams have been published in the morning of Thursday. In this year’s results, 202 institutions in the country had no students passing the exams, meaning that the pass rate for students from these institutions was zero.

The results were announced on Thursday, 16 October, at 10 am on the education boards’ websites. Detailed results were also shared by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee at Baksibazar in the capital.

Among the country’s educational institutions, 345 institutions achieved a 100% pass rate. In 2024, the number of institutions with zero pass rates was 65, which has now increased to 202, an increase of 137 institutions with zero pass rates compared to last year.

Additionally, the national pass rate last year was 77.78%, which has dropped by nearly 19% this year. The number of students who obtained GPA-5 has decreased by about 78,000.

On the other hand, female students have outperformed male students in the pass rate once again. 59,232 more female students passed compared to male students, and 4,991 more female students received GPA-5.

It is worth noting that such a low pass rate was last seen in 2005, after which the pass rate has steadily increased. This year, a total of 12,51,111 students enrolled for the HSC and equivalent exams under the 11 education boards of the country. Among them, 6,18,015 were male students and 6,33,096 were female students. The exams were held in 2,797 centres across the country, with around 27,000 students absent. The results were prepared based on the “realistic evaluation” policy.
