The Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation (BSSF) fires the starting gun on its 28th Interclub Shooting Competition today, Wednesday, at the convention hall of the Shooting Sports Complex in Gulshan, Dhaka, bringing together 175 shooters from 30 clubs across the country. BSSF President Rezaul Maksud Zahedi takes centre stage as chief guest to formally inaugurate the three-day meet. The competition runs through to Friday, 10 April 2026.
The numbers alone tell you this is no small affair. A 112 men and 63 women make the trip to the capital, representing clubs from all corners of Bangladesh. That kind of nationwide participation gives this tournament real weight as a barometer of where shooting sport stands in the country right now.
The schedule packs plenty in across three days. Wednesday opens with registration, equipment control, and free practice before the official opening ceremony at the Convention Hall’s first floor at 4:30 in the afternoon. A technical meeting follows at 6:45 in the evening on the ground floor.
Thursday gets straight down to business. Competition events begin with .22 Rifle (Open Sight) events for both men and women running across four sessions from 11 in the morning. The .177 Air Rifle and .177 Match Air Pistol events also fill the afternoon for both genders, with electronic target disciplines adding a modern edge to proceedings.
Friday brings the competition to its climax. The .177 Air Rifle and .177 Match Air Pistol events continue through the morning and into the afternoon, before the prize distribution and closing ceremony take place at 6:45 at the Convention Hall’s second floor. A cultural event and dinner round off what shapes up as a full and fitting finale.
