Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Monday handed over the Youth Volunteer Award 2025 to 12-young individuals in recognition of their voluntary work and inspirational contributions to society.
The award ceremony was held at Shapla Hall of the Chief Adviser’s Office, organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The winners were selected in five categories — youth development and employment, education, science and technology, patriotism, bravery and courage, social welfare and elderly care, and culture.
Each recipient received a crest, a certificate and Tk 1 lakh or a prize bond as part of the national honour.
Yunus praised the role of young people in shaping Bangladesh’s future. He said commitment to volunteerism reflected the nation’s strength and resilience. “The youth of Bangladesh have always stood up in moments of need, from disaster response to social change. Today’s awardees represent that same spirit of courage and service,” he said at the event.
Ministry of Youth and Sports observed that the 12 honourees were selected from across the country for their leadership in social initiatives, community development, scientific innovation, cultural activities and humanitarian service.
