The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a 22-year-old woman, identified as Mahitaz Muskan, along with 1,580 Yaba pills and cash from the capital’s Mirpur Model Thana area on Saturday morning.

Acting on a tip-off that drug dealers were gathered at ‘Tasnim Bijoy Bhaban’ near Jhilpar Mosque in the Peerbagh area to sell narcotics, a team from Mirpur Model Police Station conducted a special drive at the premises.

During the operation, police recovered 1,580 pieces of Yaba and Tk 98,500 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales, from the possession of the arrestee.

Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, confirmed the details of the seizure and arrest.

According to sources at Mirpur Model Police Station, legal proceedings against the suspect are currently underway.
