A tragic incident occurred in Saturia, Manikganj, where a construction worker, Mohammad Nur Islam (45), died from electrocution while working on the roof of a school.
The incident happened around 12:30 pm on Friday when Nur Islam was carrying out construction work on the roof of Savar Government Primary School.
Saturia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) ARM Al Mamun confirmed the incident and stated that police visited the scene. Legal action will be taken if a formal complaint is filed.
Nur Islam was the sole breadwinner of his family. He left behind a son and a daughter.
Local union council member Mohammad Delwar Hossain stated that while working, Nur Islam came too close to a main electric line running near the roof, causing him to be electrocuted. He fell from the roof and sustained severe injuries.
He was rushed to the Saturia Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
